Welcome!
Dearest quilting friends,
I feel I've always known and loved quilt making, although I was about 30, married and had three children when I discovered quilting in the revival of the '70s. My love of quilting is more than just an enjoyment of the fabrics, colors, or the process. I love everything quilting stands for. I love the history -- of being connected to our foremothers through over two centuries of quilting. I love that quilting is a symbol of recycling, of conservation, of making do. I love that quilting is taking common scraps of fabrics and turning them into beautiful works of art. I love the traditions of fellowship that quilting encompasses.
Quilting, to me, is an expression of love, because when you've made a quilt, you realize nobody would make one just to pass the time. The work is too compelling, time-consuming, and all involving. A quilt is a warm covering of love for someone you care about. A quilt is an expression of emotions that cannot be put into words. A quilt is a legacy.
I want to share with you my love of quilting so that you, too, will enjoy the creativity and personal satisfaction I have found in my beloved hobby. My underlying philosophy is to make everything as simple as possible. Over the years I have accumulated many valuable short cuts and timesaving techniques that make quilt making less difficult. My books and patterns are written and illustrated in a simple and straightforward way to take the mystery out of quilt construction and help you successfully complete your quilts.
Blessings as you create your beautiful quilts of a lifetime.
