Class Description

Four Easy Pieces, Intermediate Applique, and Blue Ribbon Applique are a series of four classes each that teach the art of Appli-play© in all its facets.

The complete Appli-play© course contains 12 lessons and takes a beginning student from the simplest form of applique (fusing) right through to hand needle-turn techniques. Each successive lesson builds upon the one before it to support and guide as you learn all the skills you will need to create applique quilts. Some easier techniques you will want to use for wall hangings; some others for baby and quilts you will give as gifts. The Blue Ribbon Applique lessons teach you time-honored hand applique methods of our quilting foremothers.

When you’re finished, you can join all 12 blocks into a sampler of applique blocks and techniques with the addition of its three-dimensional floral border. The blocks for this quilt are surrounded by their own narrow frames and set on-point for an additional skill builder.

Class content appears in the supply lists. You may choose one, two, or all three groupings. Intermediate Applique and Blue Ribbon Applique require previous knowledge and skills.

This course was created as a teaching tool for Michele’s upcoming book with a working title of the same name, Appli-PLAY©.
